The New Inn was nearby and had its own kitchens and parlour rooms for entertaining, the perfect location for visitors not able to stay in the main house. The National Trust has restored several of the New Inn Parlour rooms to the style they would have been in the 1770s. The New Inn also houses the Old Dairy Bookshop.

Despite what was on offer, some travellers found it dirty, and there weren’t always enough beds to go around. Some visitors had to travel further and stay at the Cobham Arms in Buckingham instead, which doubled up as a lively coach house and post office.

Please be aware that National Trust properties are currently closed. Stowe welcomes dogs everywhere in the garden and park but ask you to keep dogs on leads at all times.
