Chantry Chapel is the oldest building in Buckingham, the ‘dog tooth’ carving around the door gives away its Norman past. In the last 900 years it has been a hospital, a chapel, a school and a bookshop.

Can you see the wall between the Chapel and Wheeldon House? This marks the edge of a medieval burgage, a very early form of town planning that marked out exactly equal plots of land right across the town.
