Bourton Park

Bourton Park is part of the rich and varied flood plain in Buckingham, the trees, wildflowers and pond system all supported by the river Great Ouse. The River Great Ouse flows through the park, and wildflowers have followed it for generations. In 1897 Miss Marianne Farningham’s book The Christian World commented: “pleasant river to have near one, for it babbles of its birth in the well at Brackley… its delightful journey by buttercups and daisies, rushes and forget-me-nots, hawthorns and chestnuts.” Bourton Park is also home to many rare Black Poplar trees, as well as Otters.
